How can you help to spread awareness and bring support to Iraqi Refugees?
1) Research. One of the most important things you can do to help support a cause is to keep yourself informed.
2) Find an organization. It's best to find what organizations have already been established and to work with them. People are stronger in groups than alone.
3) Donations. Give a yearly, monthly, weekly, or even daily donation to an organization that works specifically to support your cause and that you know is legitimate. OR join P2P and connect yourself with an Iraqi in need and provide personal and financial support directly!
4) Spread the word. Help spread awareness to everyone you know. Send emails, create online groups, hold social gatherings, be creative!
5) Write letters to your representatives to urge them to act in support for Iraqi refugees.
5) Go to Syria or other host countries. Find connections through organizations and meet Iraqis first hand who are living as refugees. Give them a hand, hear their stories, document, and help them to have a voice in this world.
